Ayahuasca Ceremonies
«At Sacha Q’ente, we help people to connect with themselves, to their internal source of energy, in order to heal and develop themselves personally»
We serve people who come from all corners of the world for treatment of health problems using an energetic and phytotherapeutic approach. People come to develop their potential, recover a sense of wholeness, find greater meaning in life, and also recover from addiction.
We work with our own patient care model that integrates Traditional Andean-Amazonian Medicine (MTAAZ), modern psychology and psychotherapy. Though they are different approaches to medicine, they are complementary in the sense that they allow us to treat physical, mental, situational and spiritual health in a comprehensive way.
Traditional Andean-Amazon Medicine (MTAAZ) helps open and release the body’s energy blockages so that the person can connect with their inner source of energy, thus achieving an energy balance that leads to health and well-being.
What is Ayahuasca?
The main medicinal plant in a ceremony of Traditional Andean-Amazonian Medicine (MTAAZ) is Ayahuasca.
Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis caapi) is a sacred plant, though not in the theological sense but rather as respected «elder sister» in the indigenous worldview. It is a vine, considered the «rope of the spirits» or the rope that facilitates contact with the inner energy of each individual. It is also the plant that is used to make diagnoses in Traditional Andean-Amazonian Medicine (MTAAZ).
Ayahuasca is a plant that acts on the energetic system of a person, on physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and circumstantial levels. It is a medicine with an ancient tradition which must be administered using proven techniques applied by shamans for millennia. It must be given in the right quantity and frequency, according to the characteristics and needs of each person, following the instructions of a shaman trained in the indigenous medical tradition. A shaman is a surgeon of energies. Just as surgeons do in their surgical operations, the shaman opens the energetic nuclei to see, observe, cleanse, enable healing, and then closes again, taking care to mitigate the danger of infection or contamination of other energies.
Preparatory Cleansing
In accordance with traditional protocols, all participants must undergo preparatory cleansing.
These preparatory procedures, known as vomitive purges, are excellent especially as energetic cleanses, as they act on emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The results are almost immediate and give a sensation of lightness and relief. The purges are usually a prerequisite to beginning treatments with other plants. They have almost no contraindications with medications.
The purges are necessary before a ceremony, a dieta, or a retreat. Apart from the physical purification of toxins, the purges help to release and expel negative emotions that we have accumulated over time. After the purge, the capacity for dreaming is also stimulated.
There are more than 70 types of purgative plants that are employed based on the needs of each participant. The purges last 1 to 3 hours. No special preparation is necessary, though it is recommended to have an empty stomach (no food a minimum of 4 hours before the cleansing). After the purge, one can resume normal activities.
