Ceremonias de Medicina Tradicional Andino - Amazónico (MTAAZ)
What is a Ceremony and what is it for?
The medicinal ceremony is a safe space in which an aperture is produced in the participants to access their inner world, the unconscious aspects of themselves, the collective unconscious, and the deeper aspects of their spirituality.
During a ceremony, the internal contents of a person emerge, and one has the opportunity to actively unblock and purify these knots that lead to morbidity instead of just passively observing them. In this way, it becomes easier for a person to reconnect with themselves and the original contents with which he or she has come into the world, achieving a deeply restructuring effect. All the while, the shaman implements distinct energetic techniques to accompany the participants in their personal process throughout the stages of the ceremony. The first is the implementation of therapeutic contents, the second is cleansing and unblocking, the third is aligning of energies, and the last is the illuminative phase of re-connection.
The Traditional Andean-Amazonian Medicine (MTAAZ) ceremonies help to restore the inner ecology of the human being and allow for the recovery of one’s spiritual energies.
During the ceremony, the inner world of each participant may manifest through visions, memories, reflections and intuitions that sometimes require a translation, which is facilitated in interviews with the shaman following the ceremony.
How is a ceremony performed?
According to the ancestral protocol, an interview prior to the ceremony is essential to tailoring the medicinal prescriptions (dose & frequency) to the needs of each person. Another interview is also carried out after the ceremony.
In the ceremony itself, the shaman provides energetic accompaniment through Icaros (medicinal songs) and different complementary techniques.
The ceremonies take place at night, in silence and semi-darkness. They last on average between 4 and 6 hours.
It is important to prepare oneself beforehand by following the prescribed recommendations. The conditions and recommendations can be found below.
It is recommended to start with at least 2 ceremonies, participating in 3 or 4 is even better for those taking the plant for the first time. It is not recommended to participate in only one ceremony.
